Nebraska has many wonderful state parks and recreational areas for families to enjoy. Each year the Foundation looks for new
opportunities to support our state park system and other tourism efforts in Nebraska.
Projects supported by the Foundation include:
Green Cabins Project at Ponca State Park
Believed to be the first of its kind project in America, Ponca Sate Park features new, environmentally-friendly cabins made from recycled
materials. These unique cabins provide an enjoyable and educational experience.
The Foundation provided funds to replace valuable artifacts destroyed by vandals.
Lake Cunningham and Ponca State Park
New fishing piers and wheelchair accessible walkways were built to allow anglers of all ages the ability to enjoy the great outdoors.
Branched Oak State Park
Several campsites and picnic areas were modified to accommodate wheelchairs.
Bike Repair Stations in State Parks
Recognizing the growing interests of the cycling community, the Foundation is proud to support the Nebraska Game & Paks Commission
with funding for self-service, bike repair stations in some of Nebraska's most popular state parks.
Bike repair stations will be available at Eugene Mahoney State Park, Platte River State Park, Ponca State Park, Indian Cave State Park and
Branched Oak State Park Recreation Area. Each cycling service station will feature a bike rack, air pump, and basic tools needed for minor repairs.
